Day 1 : Hanoi - Arrival

Welcome to Vietnam. Arriving at Noi Bai International Airport,Snail adventure tour guide and driver will greet and pick you up to the hotel at the heart of Hanoi capital. Hanoi, the antique and dynamic city of Vietnam, reserves a unique old world charm and several of the most striking colonial architecture of Asia. After the checking-in,Take relax by your own and do briefing itinerary with our guide for coming days. enjoy a cyclo ride through the bustling streets in the Old Quarter to discover the ancient and modern beauty of Hanoi. Day 2: Hanoi – Nghia Lo

Having hearty breakfast in hotel, Leaving the hustling and bustling city behind, our shuttle bus take  2 hours transfer along the Thao River to  Tan Son Town.  You are rewarded by breathtaking scenery, delightful sightseeing. Upon arriving cycling point, we have lunch in local restaurant. 
Following to lunch, we commence to ride along Red river bank to Nghia Lo. We also enjoy leisurely space on gradual tarmac road, passing dozens of corn farm and rice paddy fields. Admire peaceful villages as we cycle through villages and villages. Arriving in Nghia Lo city late afternoon. Do check in and have dinner in hotel.

Day 3: Nghia Lo –  Tu Le  - Mu Cang Chai

This day starts with a visit to the local market in Nghia Lo Town, a chance to explore and shop for local handicrafts.market is meeting point of ethnic minorities in the North Vietnam, visiting and taking pictures is great impressive experiences, then we start riding from hotel to Tu Le, today is leisure day with 45 km cycling  on undulating road, through picturesque valley, fascinating rice paddies, riding ascendingly 8 km to slope to take view magnificient Tu Le town and breaktaking scenery, Rolling down Tu Le for Lunch. Following to lunch meals, we challenge 25 Km Khau Pa  steep pass. Refreshment before rolling down through three villages with extraordinary stunning rice terraces which are listed as National Rice Terraces Heritages of Vietnam, and undulating road along river lead to Mu Cang Chai Ecolodge

Day 4: Mu Cang Chai – Than Uyen 

Today is fantastic day with all highlights in our trip, start cycling through three villages with extraordinary stunning rice terraces which are listed as National Rice Terraces Heritages of Vietnam, and undulating road along river lead to Thanh Uyen. 
Start cycling from Hotel after hearty breakfast, we commence riding on undulaitng road along the river and hillside. we are rewarded by the outstanding features of the landscape, fresh air in the morning, we reach on summit, coffee,tea, snack are available for you before descending to Mu Cang Chai, Mu Cang Chai is a poor district of Yen Bai Province  with 85% population, is H’Mong people who are the  Host of National Rice Terrace Beauty. We stop for lunch in Mu Cang Chai Town, after lunch, we commence around the town, explore market, continue  riding to Than Uyen, upon arrival in Than Uyen, Check in and relax for dinner time. Day 5: Than Uyen – Bao Ha

After hearty breakfast in hotel, we set off our way to Bao Ha town. Fully supported vehicle follow, incase of one of us need assistance.
Today is really challenging and incredible cycling day in our trip. We will cycle on paved road, mixed and concrete road, challenge some steep passed, cycling through winding route with sharp turns and hairpin road lead to new highway. We will cycle through new high way to Bao Ha town . Have dinner and stay over night in Bao Ha Town.

Day 6: Bao Ha  – Bac Ha

Following to hearty breakfast in hotel, we kick off our bike from hotel, looking forward to cycling  Pho Rang Town. Challenging  short steep pass with winding road before descendingly ride to Pho Rang. Regroup and refuel energy before hooping up our bike through untouched region with dreamlike and peacefull hill tribe villages, stunnning rice paddied fields and Cinnamon forest, meet and interact with hill tribe people on the way or meet them in local markets to understand their life

Day 7: Bac Ha – Thong Nguyen

After breakfast,  taking short transfer to avoid steep pass. Setting  off our way from Lung Phinh section, cycling on scenic route, passing many authentic Hmong hill tribe villages to Nam Ma for refresment.  After filling up energy, we gear up our bikes on winding road with sharp bends to slope then rock and roll down to Coc Pai town for picnic lunch.
Following to picnic lunch, we commence riding along River to admire spectacular rice terrace scenery and towering mountain ranges dotted with hill tribes village. Conquer long climb on winding road lead to slope of Heaven gate II before descendingly ride to Thong Nguyen Village.

Day 8: Thong Nguyen – Ha Giang

Ha Giang is the capital of the province of the same name. It is back-dropped by limestone outcrops soaring skywards over the suburbs which hints at the amazing scenery. Ha Giang province  shares 270km long border with Yunnan province of China and bounded by Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang and Cao Bang provinces. Today we take easy cycling on the road between Hoang Su Phi and Ha Giang. For travellers, it offers one of the most pristine beautiful limestone mountains and marvelous rice terrace scenery, which is listed as National Heritage of Northeast Vietnam. After taking short visit to tribal villages on side roads, we cycle down to Viet Quang then transfer to hotel in Ha Giang.

Day 9: Ha Giang – Yen Minh

Setting off this morning we head out of town cycling for the first 25km on relatively flat road through the landscape of terraced rice paddy fields. Passing through minority villages we cycle the next 25km up winding roads into the vast limestone mountain range with its perpendicular walls of rock, climbing 800m towards the mountain road pass “Heaven gate 1”. As we pass through mountain villages sometimes covered by cloud, we will receive a friendly greeting from the local communities. 
From the pass we can look down at amazing views, including the famous vista of the Tam Son valley with the ‘Twin Hills and can spy Quan Ba town,  Have lunch on summit and enjoy picturesque scenery. After lunch meal, we set off our bike to descend to river and ride along to Gam river until we meet another pass again. We cycle uphill for the first few km before a descent of around 10km and then relatively flat terrain for the next 10km. It’s a challenging up and down terrain to an altitude of 1.025m before we make a final descent for the last 15km into Yenh Minh. We will have the chance to see the traditional homes of the local hill tribes. The communities in this area are Chinese.

Day 10: Yen Minh – Dong Van

Today is great and incredible day with us whilst cycling in the heart of world listed Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark
Have hearty breakfast in hotel and take a quick visit colourful hill tribe market  nearby hotel and then commence   cycling on the way of Happiness road to Dong Van. You are rewarded by pristine nature and magnificent karsk Plateau scenery while cycling ascending to summit. Stop to visit and explore Hmong King Palace ( Vuong Chi Sinh Palace)  and then we continue cycling to Lung Cu Pole Flag Tower. Have lunch enroute. After lunch we keep riding on back road to Dong Van Town. Upon arriving, do check in and have relax by your own.

Day 11: Dong Van – Meo vac – Mau Due

There is a market daily in the town centre of  Dong Van and Meo Vac used mainly by the White Hmong, Tay and Lo Lo hill tribes. Women dressed in their brightly coloured traditional clothing walk into the town carrying their bamboo woven baskets laden with corn and vegetables. Today we follow a remote mountain road to conque incredible pass – Ma Phi Leng – Link between in two towns Dong Van and Meo Vac. It is  terrific and amazing scenery when we cycle on slope of mountain to admire extraordinerary sightseeing, reflecting crystal water from Nho Que River
Enjoy the first two km on flat road lead out of Dong Van Town then we challenge 7 km ascendingly ride on winding road with sharp turn to the top.

We set off our way to cycle on scenic route to Mau Due, enjoy spectacular rocky mountain and  karstic  Geopark as we cycle and challenge some steep passes  through the central of UNESCO Registried to  Mau Due town.. have dinner and stay overnight in Mau Due Town.

Day 12: Mau Due – Du Gia – Bac Me

Being waken up by sound and smell of daily market nearby. You will join and interact with hill tribes people who are wearing coloful clothes to exchange their own products in early morning.
Have light breakfast arranged by our crew. After filling energy for new cycling day. We  gear up our bike from hotel, conque short steep pass through the Town to  Mau Due slope to contemplating scenery and panoramic Dong Van karstic Geology park.
We continue our trip  on  Mau Due - Du Gia route  to  admire captivated magical natural beauty throughout the journey. Having the opportunity to wander on this road, you will see the clear blue sky with white clouds floating, majestic mountains undulating, messages and small streams murmuring along the path originating from thethe side of the water.

Day 13: Bac Me – Ngoi Hoa – Na Hang – Ba Be

Today is challenging and adventurous day  for riders, as we ride through untouched region of Na Hang National park to Yen Hoa. The road is actually terrific and amazing with some steep passes on way. 
The first stages will be challenging as we ride ascendingly on winding road with many hairpin bends on route lead to summit.
The second stage will be comfortable and wonderful as we cycle through many tribal villages, spectacular natural scenery, arrive in Da Vi village, stop for lunch. After luch time, take boat trip to Dau Dang water fall, load up our bike continuce to ride on off road to Be Be Lake, take the second boat trip, exploring beautiful sightseeing, limestone mountain in lake, then cycle  through National park to hotel. Dinner and stay in Sai Gon Ba be Hotel/ Ecohomestay
Ba Be is one of biggest fresh water lake in Viet Nam and listed one of the 28th Biggest Fresh Water Lake on a slope of limestones Mountain of the World, UNESCO listed Ba Be Lake as World fresh water Reserver, cruising Ba Be is impressive experience in our trip.

Day 14: Ba Be – Quang Khe – Phuong vien – Xuan Phuong -  Chiem Hoa – Cho Chu – Hanoi

The last cycling day in our trip offer for travellers  amazing natural scenery in the way between Ba Be and Thai Nguyen, we have opportunity in exploring the verdant tea farm, palm Leaves, gum trees and some ethnic  minorities in villages, our cycling trip will finish after lunch, take the van to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi, check in room, and have fare well dinner in Local restaurant, Stay over night in Hanoi City

Bikes: we use the new 4300/4500 trek  and Cannondale Trail 4, 5 and tango 5 mountain bikes for all most cycling trip with different size from 13.5’’  - 23,5’’.We generally use 2017 /2018 models of TREK  mountain bikes because they are high quality, durable pieces of equipment. Besides, We have introduced brand new Trek Hybrid Fx3 for Long distance bikes with multi days tours.

We like the versatility and durability of the mountain bike as it has been designed to cope with different types of terrain and riding. Our trips can be on asphalt and can often be broken or potholed, and there are usually unsurfaced sections included, so mountain bikes are the most suitable. They also have the range of gears to cope with the hills.
Each bike comes with a single water bottle cage, if you prefer more you are welcome to bring your own. Bikes also have gel seat cover slips if you prefer a softer ride. If you have your own saddle that you are comfortable with seat, you are welcome to bring it and we'll fit it. On long tours women specific seats are recommended and we have some available, but we cannot guarantee we will available for every tour.These bikes also are available for rent in case you want to go it alone or just need a bike for a day.

Bikes repairs: basic spaires and tools kid are generally carried by guide and on the support vehicle, although we can not guarantee having spares for every conceivable problem. Carring a basic tool kids, a spare tube and a pump while riding is  recommended.

Safety: wearing a helmet is compulsory on all our biking adventures. Your tour guide are trained in first aid and emergency rescure, tour guide often carry first aid  box with their bikes while riding
Support: we often used mini bus and bus  with air condition for transfer and back up as itineraries

Accommodation:When cycling we stay in friendly hotel, guesthouse or homestays. Some are more basic than others! Bear in mind that some of the places we overnight in are not on the standard tourist trail.In larger cities and towns, our hotels are generally more western style and are three or four hotels or resort. Please do not expect the same standard as you would your home.

Our guides: the tour will be led by one of English - speaking guides. All our guides have great knowledge of history, local culture,  and religions of the area where you are cycling and introduce that experiences for you . our guides have been  trained  in this field and is fully licensed in tour guiding by Vietnam National Tourism. Our guides are also medically skilled in first Aid by SOS  and they know how to deal  with hard situations.\

Grading definition: To assist you visualise how our trip is difficult, we have graded our adventure tours into three categories, easy, moderate, and challenging, we group many factors into consideration into this grading, including distant covered, terrain, altitude, weather conditions and vehicle support

Easy: suitable for most people in good health. These trips  generally include short days, on good paths and at low attitudes
Moderate: A reasonable level of fitness is required, as these trips can require sustained endurance levels, hill longer days and altitude.All of our moderate trips have a support vehicle following closely, weary travellers can hitch a ride and take a rest for a while.

Challenging: these trips are physically demanding and best suite for  fit people with high endurancce level. Day can be longer, often at altitude, in remoted regions and sometimes without supports vehicle nearby.. travellers may be required  to carry a backpacks.

Terrain: Distances on full cycling days average around 50 – 80km. Our route is mainly on tarmac roads of varing quality with are some more like hard – packed dirt, Terrain is generally flat or undulating with a few notable climbs..  Distance for second days and  half of third day is around 60- 80 km. Our routes are mainly on single track, dirt road and trail , we cycle around villages and villages, through rice paddy terraces.

Food: All the meals which, are mentioned in itinerary, are included in the price of this tour. Most of meals are Vietnamese local food in Homestays . while in towns, we will enjoy Vietnamese cuisine in delicious restaurants
Meals consist of a variety of banlanced dishes and aim for universal appeal, we avoid highly spiced foods.

Vegetarians are certainly welcome and are always accommodated, please let us know of any dietary concerns at time of booking.  Beverage  and alcoholic drink are not included  at mealtime or in restaurants
Snack/ Water: when we transfer, ride by minibus ( no cycling day),  our bottled waters are always available  for you ( two little for one day for person with wet tissue)

When we have cycling days, we will offer cold water and wet tissue in box plus fresh tropical fruides, soft – drink, energy – drinking, ( five little water for cycling day/ person).
Beer is freely available everywhere in Vietnam, but not include in our trip.

The Homestays: Homestay in the villages is simple interm of  bedding condition and ementies. We will sleep  on beds  or floor with mattress, clean sheet, pillow and mosquito nets. Toilet is usually western style.
Weather: Vietnam has a tropical monsoon climate. Broadly speaking, the weather in Vietnam is dictated by two seasons - the southwest monsoon from April to September and the Northeast monsoon  from October to late march  or early April.

Due to regional climate differences, there are no right or wrong  seasons to visit Vietnam.the north Vietnam is cool, damp in winters between November and December and February with tempreture in Hanoi falling to around 15oC. The summer months from April to October  are hot and dry.the best time visit Vietnam is spring ( February – April) or Autunm( late September – December) when it is not so humid. The weather turns quite cold and wet in January and this continues to  march. The humidity can prove oppresive from May to the early September.

Money:  the official national currency is the Vietnamese Dong ( VND), but the US dollar is widely accepted in allmost tourist centers. However, small towns and the villages the VND is preferred, ATM are available in all major cities and towns, tourist destinations, Vietcombank, Agriculture banks are the best networks with  a limit a single withdraw limit of 2000,000 d ( 95 USD). Most major currrencies can be exchanged in leading in Vietnam, but th USD is preferred  away from the tourist centers. Changing 100 USD  wil make you to be a millionaire. You can not legally take the dong out of Vietnam but you can reconvert reasonable amounts of it into USD on departure,.

Clothing:  comfortable lightweight clothing  in natural fabrics such as cotton is most suitable for travelling in Vietnam. The dress code is fairly casual as it is in most parts of the tropics but it is advisable to cover arms and legs in the evening against bitting  insects. A light weight raincoat or rain cape  is a good ideal in the raining season. For on the bike you will need to bring a couple of pairs of cycling shorts and short leeve jerseys, a pairs of cycling glove and if you use them, your clip in cycling shoes/ sandals.. when travel in the North Vietnam during winter months ( late November – March) warm clothe is needed.Visitors to Buddhist countries should not to wear shorts, short skirts  or other skimpy clothing when visiting religious centers and shoes should be removed  before entering private homes.

Passport and visa: All visitors  are required to have a valid  visa to enter Vietnam. A one month tourist visa is usually sufficients for most visitors, though it is possible to arrange  three months  or six month – multiple entry visa for regular visitors. The Snail Adventure Tours company  is authorised to issue visa on arrival at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi, Danang International Airport in Danang,  and Tan San Nhat in Ho chi Minh city.The same authorisation proceduce  and a minimum mof 5 days working  notice is required. In emergency case they can arrange a visa o arrival if notice of 2  working days is given

Tipping: Tipping for good services is always appreciated in these developing countries. It is customary, though not compulsory, to tip tour guides and drivers at the end of the tour. Hotels and station porters should also be tipped a small amount for . We recommend 5 US Dollar  / person/per day  for cycling tour guides .. 2 USD/ person/ day for driver and 1 USD/ person/ day for door bell when checking in and out.

Community:  Prior to our tours, we contact and work with local community leaders to make sure we are welcome and in a manner that minimizes negative social and cultural impacts. We visit local development and community projects specific to the region, encouraging custommers  to donate and assist such a projects in appropriate and sustainable manner.
Where make sure that where and whenever possible our tours positively benefit the local community. We stayed at locally owned accommodation and visit  cottage industries  for local handicraft souvenir, generating  income for local business. We often employ, hire support team such as local guide, moto taxi drivers, cook assistants on all trips to ensure that  the local community benefit not only short term but with increased employment opportunities for the future.
