Ha Giang is the final frontier in northern Vietnam an amazing landscape of limestone pinnacles and granite outcrops. The far north of the province has some of the most spectacular scenery in the country, and the trip between Yen Minh and Dong Van, and then across the Mai Pi Leng Pass to Meo Vac is quite mind-blowing. Ha Giang should be one of the most popular destinations in this region, but its proximity to the Chinese border still keeps visitor numbers at a low level.

Our trip will start in Hanoi then look forward to North East Vietnam ( Ba Be Lake) cycle to Bao Lac, ascendingly ride to Meo Vac and Dong Van rocky Mountain region before descedingly ride to Yen Minh. Cycling in Ha Giang is incredible way to disclose the hidden charm of the rocky Dong Van plateau. A registered UNESCO Global Geopark, 80% of the terrain is covered by rock and it is said to contain fossils from 400-600million years ago. Nestled in a valley in the heart of the Rock Plateau, is the isolated town of Dong Van, very close to the Chinese border and surrounded by mountain forest and multi-coloured orchids. Meaning 'sharing culture' Dong Van is occupied by Chinese Hoa, and H'mong, Tay and Kinh People. The houses are built in Chinese style.

Bac Ha is well known for colorfull hill tribe market on Sunday. It boasts vivid atmosphere in every Sunday.
After joining in Bac Ha Sunday market, we continue our trip to hill town retreat Sapa where you will admire stunning scenery. Meet and talk with local peopple, little kids on the way we pass.
The last stages as we cycle on scenic route from Sapa conque amazing pass before descending ride 20 km to Binh Lu then undulating route to Mu Cang Chai and Nghia Lo.
Day 1: Hanoi – Bac Can – Na Pac – Ba Be
Leave Hanoi in the morning for a road transfer 200 km along National way no3 via Thai Nguyen and Bac Can. Enjoy breathtaking scenery on the way. Lunch stop in Bac can city. Start cycling from Na Pac through rustic villages and brilliant scenery to Cho Ra then continue along the Nang River 18 km to the center of Ba Be National Park. Upon arriving in hotel. Do check in and relax by yourself. Dinner and stayover night in Thai Binh Hotel./ Ecohomestay

Day 2: Ba Be lake – Bao Lac
Spending over one hour on boat trip to explore the stunning Ba Be lake and enjoy breathtaking scenery in the morning. Visit one of maverlous cave and admire the unique stalagmite and stalactite in the the cave. We disembark on boat, start cycling day on undulating road from Ba be to Cho Ra, turn off the province road 255 lead to Nguyen Binh district. Have lunch enroute, after lunch we continue riding ascending to Pia Hooc summit. Enjoy dreamlike scenery and stunning panoramic valley. we continue cycling on undulating route to Bao Lac in the late afternoon.

Day 3: Bao Lac – Meo Vac
Today you will enjoy a full day biking through the beautiful region along the mighty Gam River. Breakfast and start biking from your hotel. Following national road 34A for the whole morning on old tarmac which runs in parallel with Gam River eastwards for 23km Turn right at Ly Bon, cross the Gam River by newly built bridge to the northern bank and then having picnic lunch break. Afternoon cycle is challenging uphill towards Meo Vac town let near the Chinese border. The road winds its way on steep mountain sides for 50km, You may cycle as far as you can and then supporting vehicle will transfer the last portion of the road to Meo Vac. Arriving to hotel at about 16.30. Check in and free to explore the town.

Day 4: Meo Vac - Dong Van – Ma Le – Saphin – Yen Minh
Having hearty breakfast in Hotel, we kick off our pedal to challenge one of incredible pass of North East Vietnam – Ma Phi Lang Pass. 20 Km long Ma Phi Leng Pass is located at 1230 m and looks over to Nho Que River , offer amazing scenery and panoramic view.
Whilst we cycle along scenic route from Hotel to summit, we will admire extraordinary landscape and rugged mountain range, emerald water on Nho Que River.
Descendingly ride 2 km to Dong Van town, regroup and refreshment. We continue our trip to Ma Le and Xa Phin Valley on winding route.Stop for paying visit the former Palace of the Hmong King who ruled over the Hmong community and control opium trading until 1945.Continue biking along the same road 21km to Sung La valley and then up steep mountain to Pho Bang ancient trading town, enjoy several stops along the way for sightseeing and paying visiting Sung Muoi village of the Hmong. Lunch break in Pho Bang.Continue cycling downhill from Pho Bang to Yen Minh via Pho Cao Mountain pass which offers stunning scenery of yen Minh valley.Arriving at the Thao Nguyen hotel in mid-afternoon. Day 5: Yen Minh –Quan Ba – Ha Giang
Breakfast, check out hotel and get ready for great challenging today. We shall conquer two high mountain pass: Yen Minh and Quan Ba.Depart at 08.30 with biking 2 km flat road from hotel and then challenging 19km uphill to the top of Yen Minh pass. The road is steep with many sharp bends but offers great view of marvellous valley below. Enjoy a tea break at the top before getting downhill 18km to Can Ty commune and then cycle through the valley along the Nho Que River for 6km. Take another break for recharging energy before biking uphill 13km to Quan Ba town let. Paying visit to Nam Dam village of the Zao people before lunch break.Afternoon challenge is conquering Quan Ba Pass, The 8km uphill to the Haven Gate at the top is really steep with many sharp bends. Then getting down steep mountain 20km to the bottom of the valley. Picked up in mid afternoon for 25km transfer to Ha Giang. Check in hotel and free to explore this charming city.

Day 6: Ha Giang – Hoang Su Phi 83 km
The cycle today is easy. Leave Ha Giang at 08.00 and cycle 3 km to Ban Me village of the Tay. Cycle around the valley, stop to pay visiting to homes of the Tay people. Then continuing along national road 2 on good tarmac 45km to Tan Quang junction. Transfer up steep mountain pass 17km to the top of Hoang Su Phi pass, enjoy picnic lunch at the top.Continue cycling along a narrow country road 16km to the Panhou ecolodge. Check in and relax or take an hour cycle to explore the Giang village near by.

Day 7: Hoang Su Phi – Bac Ha
After breakfast we cycle 29km to Hoang Su Phi Town then we continue climb up 5km right outside the town, then continue 40km along the Chay river to XinMan, quite easy flat road. Please keep up with the main route, can take photos along the way, but do not turn into any village along this route. At we climb up 18km to summit of alt.+1,460m, then continue 43km up and down hill to BacHa. This is totally a new road ? built on the former trail of the flower Hmong tribes. O/N SaoMai hotel in BacHa .

Day 9: Sapa Cycle Tours To Than Uyen.
From Sapa we start the day’s ride with a 15kms climb to the top of the Tram Ton Pass, stopping on route to visit the “silver waterfall”. Then it’s a 26kms plunge down to Binh Lu junction. From here we continue along the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, there are a number of hard climbs but the magnificent landscape makes the hardship all worthwhile. We finish with a 20kms descent to Than Uyen.

Day 10: Than Uyen Cycle Tours To Tu Le
We follow the valley out of Than Uyen until the road begins to wind up into the hills. This rugged terrain of dense vegetation brings us into contact with the Black Hmong and the mysterious White Tay people who are famed for their folk music, poems and songs. We end the day at Tu Le.

Day 11: Tu Le Cycle Tours To Nghia Lo – Tram Tau
Having hearty breakfast in Hotel, we set off our way to Nghia Lo township for refreshment then gear up again to Tram, Tau..
Today is amazing day in our trip, the distance will be divided into section. The first section is absolutely scenic route, and descending riding. we pass large white limestone mountains as we explore the “real Vietnam”. We will cycle through meandering roads to Nghia Lo. It sits on a mountain ridge overlooking the Red and Black River and is home to the Thai, Nung, H’mong, La Ha and Ma peoples.
The second section will bring us different emotion as we ride on winding route, passing many hilli tribes and breathtakinfg scenery on the way to Tram Tau. Upon arriving of township, we do check in and relax. Stay overnight in Thao Nguyen Hotel

After breakfast in local restaurant, we hook up our bike to challenge 8 km steep pass, right after arriving on the summit, we cycle undulating 20 km on the top before descendingly rolling down to Phu Yen Town ship. You will be rewarded by incredible rugged terrain and spectacular sights Having lunch enroute, after picnic lunch, we make warm up for 4 km before rolling down on hair pin route to Van Yen.After arrving the bottom of the pass, we ride on tarmac road lead to Phu Yen Township.having dinner and stayover night in Hoong Long Hotel.

Today is another challenging in our cycling trip, we set of our way from hotel, cycling to Da Bac on mixed road. challenge 6 km steep pass to the first top then down to valley before ascendingly ride again to second top. Stop on slope for refreshment. After filling up water, we roll down 20 km to bank of river.
Conquer 9 km on the third pass for picnic lunch, following to lunch time, we cycle on scenic route and marvelous sightseeing to Da Bac town.
The rest distance will be transferred or keep riding through valley and winding road to Hoa Binh city.

Day 14: Hoa Binh - Hanoi
Today is the last day our cycling trip. We will ride on tarmac road, long the Da river to contemplate dreamlike scenery and alluring sights.
After enjoy brilliant breakfast in hotel, we kick off our bike to Dong Quan bridge, we will inturn cycle through authentic villages stunning coin and rice paddy field. Stop on the way to take picture or interact with local poeple to understand their living.
Crossing Dong Quan Bridge to Ba Vi eco House for lunch meals. After lunch, we finish our brilliant cycling holiday in north Vietnam.
Our shullte bus take us to Hanoi city for 2 hours, upon arriving of city, do check in and relax by yourself. Farewell dinner will be arranged for our teams in cozy restaurant.. our service will ended. Thank for joining once lifetime cycling with us.
